What is the Chancenkarte?
Launched in 2024, the Chancenkarte (Opportunity Card) is Germany's new points-based immigration pathway. Unlike the EU Blue Card which requires a job offer, the Chancenkarte lets you enter Germany to search for employment for up to 12 months.
Points System (Need 6+ to qualify)
- Qualification: Recognized degree or vocational qualification (required)
- Language: German B2 = 3pts, B1 = 2pts; English C1 = 1pt
- Work Experience: 5+ years = 3pts, 2+ years = 2pts
- Age: Under 35 = 2pts, 35-40 = 1pt
- German Connection: Previous stay/education = 1pt
Why Consider Germany?
Germany has a severe labor shortage across many sectors. The country offers strong social benefits, free or affordable education, and a path to permanent residence and citizenship. For IT professionals, engineers, and healthcare workers, Germany is one of the most accessible European destinations.
